Clever Fruit Products (“Clever”), a developer of fruit-based fermented health ingredients, is pleased to announce three new appointments to its Board of Directors. Lorna Vanderhaeghe, Canada’s leading natural health expert and product developer; Dean Mosca, Natural Products industry veteran; and, entrepreneur and financier Michael Mailman, have all joined as independent Directors.
“Clever’s Board appointments are an important corporate milestone,” says Sean Sears, Executive Chairman of Clever. “These highly-accomplished executives bring a breadth of industry expertise and relationships at a time where Clever is gearing up for a highly successful year ahead.”
“Our team is humbled and excited to be working with these experienced and engaged Board members,” says Liam Tayler, Clever’s President. “Lorna is an industry leader in natural product marketing and development, and Dean has significant relevant experience in customer engagement and product launch execution. The timing is ideal as Clever prepares to launch its first fermented supplement product, a Fermented Wild Blueberry (“FWB”) Ingredient.”
“I am excited to join Clever as an active member of its Board and to help design science-backed natural health products,” says Lorna Vanderhaeghe, author of 13 books on nutritional medicine. “Clever is pursuing a very important area of nutritional science. The fermentation of fruit polyphenols creates postbiotics that have shown direct immunomodulatory and clinically relevant effects for a range of diseases for use in improving overall health.”
About Clever Fruit Products:
Clever Fruit Products is a developer of fruit-based fermented natural health ingredients for functional food, supplement, and nutraceutical brands. Its mission is to enhance society’s health by increasing the potency of fruit polyphenols through fermentation. Clever’s proprietary fermentation technology turbo-charges polyphenol compounds found in fruit, creating new bioactive compounds which are far more potent than the original fruit.
Clever’s initial product line is based on the wild blueberry. The lowbush wild blueberry is well-recognized for its positive health impact on cardiovascular, immunity, cognition, vision, and weight management. Early trials suggest a potential to reduce cholesterol by 40% which outperforms the efficacy of current natural cholesterol solutions by 2-4 times; in a $27B natural cholesterol health market.
